The Shrine



Shrine, The, fraternal order and service branch of the Masons (officially called the Ancient Arabic Order of Nobles of the Mystic Shrine for North America) open to men who have achieved the rank of Knights Templar or the 32nd Masonic degree. Founded in 1872, the Shrine supports a number of philanthropies, including 22 hospitals offering free services to burned and crippled children. There are over 800,000 North American Shriners.
