Shoshone



Shoshone, group of Native North Americans originally inhabiting the territory between southeastern California and Wyoming. The Shoshone of eastern Utah and Wyoming were typical buffalo hunters of the plains. In the 18th century the Comanche split off and moved south to Texas. There are about 8,000 Shoshone on reservations.
