Shavuot

Shavuot, Jewish holiday known as the Festival of Weeks, held on the sixth and seventh days of the month of Sivan (May-June). Originally an agricultural celebration of the harvest, it was observed by presenting the season's first fruits and bread baked from the first wheat at the Temple in Jerusalem. Later it came to commemorate the receipt of the Ten Commandments.
