William Steele Sessions



Sessions, William Steele (1930– ), U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) director since 1987. After practicing law, he worked as a criminal prosecutor for the U.S. Justice Department (1969–71), actively prosecuting Vietnam draft evaders. He was named by President Richard Nixon as a district attorney for western Texas (1971–74) and by President Gerald Ford as a U.S. district judge (1974–87).
