Sesame



Sesame (Sesamum indicum), tropical plant cultivated mainly in China and India for its flat seeds; also, the seeds themselves. Sesame seeds yield an oil used as a salad or cooking oil and in margarine, cosmetics, and ointments. The residue left after oil extraction is used as a cattle feed and fertilizer.
