Scientology

Scientology, religio-scientific movement stressing self-redemption, which originated in the United States in the 1950s and was incorporated as a church in 1965. It was founded by L. Ron Hubbard. Based on Hubbard's theory of dianetics, a “modern science of mental health,” scientology holds that all aspects of individual human behavior are linked and must be harmonized; it also posits a life energy in the universe at large that affects human behavior.
