Scientific creationism

Scientific creationism, belief that current forms of life did not evolve from simpler forms over millions of years but were created more or less as they exist now. According to scientific creationists, neither logic nor physical evidence (fossils) supports the ideas of differentiation and transitions between life forms that are central to the theory of evolution. The scientific creationist movement developed in the mid-20th century, particularly with the activities of Henry M. Morris, cofounder of the Creation Research Society (1963) and founder of the Institute for Creation Research (1970s).
