Saranac Lakes



Saranac Lakes, group of lakes in the Adirondack Mountains of northeastern New York. The region of these glacial lakes is a popular recreation area. The 3 lakes are Upper Saranac (8 mi/13 km long, 2 mi/3.2 km wide), Middle Saranac or Lake Saranac (3 mi/4.8 km long, 1 mi/1.6 km wide), and Lower Saranac (5 mi/8 km long, 1 mi/1.6 km wide).
