Pete Sampras



Sampras, Pete (1971– ), U.S. tennis player, youngest ever to win the men's singles title in the United States Open tennis tournament (1990). He is known for his powerful serve, one-handed backhand, and serve-and-volley style of playing. In July 1998, Sampras won the Wimbledon tournament for the fifth time.
