Samoset



Samoset (1590?–1655), Pemaquid chief who welcomed, assisted, and became a staunch friend of the Plymouth Pilgrims. In 1625 Samoset presented John Brown with 12,000 acres of Pemaquid land for the colonists' use and settlement.
