Saint Andrews



Saint Andrews (pop. 16,000), town in eastern Scotland on the North Sea, in the district of Fife, between the firths of Forth and Tay. The University of St. Andrews is Scotland's oldest (founded 1411). The town, known as the birthplace of golf, is home to the Royal and Ancient Golf Club (founded 1754).
