Moshe Safdie



Safdie, Moshe (1938– ), Israeli architect. His best known project is Habitat, a modular housing project designed for Expo '67, the 1967 Montreal exposition, and later reproduced in Israel, New York City, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands. Other designs by Safdie include the Yeshivat Porat Joseph Rabbinical College in Jerusalem (1971–79) and the National Gallery of Canada in Ottawa (1988). Safdie became a Canadian citizen in 1959.
