Jalal-ed-Din Rumi or Jalal-ud-Din
Rumi, Jalal-ed-Din, or Jalal-ud-Din (1207–73), Sufi poet and mystic of Persia. His maj or work was the Mathnawi, a poetic exposition of Sufi wisdom in some 27,000 couplets.
