Roy, Gabrielle (1909– ), French-Canadian novelist noted for her portrayals of poor urban workers in The Tin Flute (1947) and The Cashier (1955). Some of her novels, such as Street of Riches (1957), are set in the isolated rural landscape of her native Manitoba.
