Roaring Twenties

Roaring Twenties, period of the 1920s in the United States identified with restlessness and social reform. After years of involvement with the war in Europe, the nation experienced a surge of economic prosperity that resulted in dramatic shifts in American attitudes and culture. This period, also called the Dollar Decade and the Jazz Age, inspired many in the arts to rebel against narrow-mindedness and traditional values. The period is often associated with bootleg liquor, short skirts, women smoking cigarettes, and sexual permissiveness.
