Ringtail



Ringtail, or cacomistle, member of the raccoon family found in North and Central America. About 12–15 in (30–38 cm) long, ringtails generally have grayish brown fur and long, black-and-white striped tails. They are nocturnal and subsist mainly on rodents. North American ringtails live in the deserts and forests of the West and Southwest.
