Ring



Ring, small circular band worn on the body as decoration. It is often made of metal and sometimes engraved or set with gems. Rings are most common on the fingers and ears, but are also worn on the nose or toes. Its symbolic value has been recognized throughout the ages. Rings have been used to show position or social status, designate membership in an organization, and denote friendship.
