Recreational vehicle (RV)

Recreational vehicle (RV), temporary living quarters on wheels, used for traveling or camping. Five basic types of RVs are in use today. Motor homes contain an engine and living quarters, which have conveniences such as running water and facilities for cooking, heating, and food-storage. This type includes vans adapted for overnight use. Travel trailers are not motorized and must be pulled by another vehicle, as must campers (camping trailers), which are smaller than these trailers. They have collapsible sides that can fold out to provide extra sleeping or storage space. Truck campers are adapted to fit over the bed and cab of a pickup truck. Pickup covers enclose only the bed of a pickup truck.
