Vidkun Abraham Lauritz Quisling



Quisling, Vidkun Abraham Lauritz (1887–1945), Norwegian fascist leader who assisted the German invasion of Norway (1940) during World War II and was afterward appointed premier of Norway's puppet government (1942–45) by Adolf Hitler. He was executed for treason. His name has come to mean “traitor.” He had formed his own political party, the National Union, in 1936, and contacted German Nazi leaders.
