Quinsy



Quinsy, acute complication of tonsillitis in which abscess formation causes spasm of the adjacent jaw muscles, fever, and severe pain. Incision and drainage of the pus produce rapid relief; antibiotics are helpful; and the tonsils may be removed when the infection diminishes.
