Querétaro



Querétaro, state in central Mexico, on the Mexican Plateau, 6,119 ft (1,865 m) above sea level. Querétaro covers about 4,420 sq mi (11,450 sq km) of land, which includes mountainous areas, plains, and fertile valleys. Industries include farming and the mining of opals, silver, iron and copper. The Mexican constitution was drafted there (1916–17).
