Potato beetle



Potato beetle (Lema trilineata), destructive insect of the leaf beetle family. The larvae feed on the leaves and stems of potato plants, causing extensive damage and diseases that harm proper potato tuber growth. The most common type is the Colorado potato beetle (Leptinotarsa decemlineata), which measures 1/2 in (13 mm) long and is yellow with black stripes on its wing covers.
