Plywood

Plywood, strong, light wood composite made of alternate layers of veneer glued together with their grain at right angles. Thick plywood may have a central core of sawn lumber. It is made of an odd number of layers and is termed 3-ply, 5-ply, etc., depending on the number of layers. Strong and almost free of warping and splitting, plywood is used for construction of all kinds.
