Georgi Valentinovich Plekhanov



Plekhanov, Georgi Valentinovich (1857–1918), Russian Marxist thinker. Always opposed to political terror, he at first supported V. I. Lenin, but after 1903 he espoused Menshevik views and, during World War I, supported military defense of Russia. After the successful Bolshevik-led revolution, he retired from public life.
