Pesticide

Pesticide, substance used to kill plants or animals responsible for economic damage to crops or ornamental plants or that prejudice the well-being of humans and domestic or conserved wild animals. Pesticides are subdivided into insecticides (which kill insects), miticides (which kill mites), herbicides (which kill plants), fungicides (which kill fungi), and rondeticides (which kill rats and mice). A major question with all pesticides is the possibility of unfortunate environmental side effects.
