Peccary



Peccary, pig-like mammal of the southwestern United States and northern South America, inhabiting bushy thickets or forests. There are two species within the family Tayassuidae, the collared peccary (Pecari tajacu) and white-lipped peccary (Tayassu pecari). Both are long-legged, with thick bristly hair and an erectile mane along the back.
