Paraná



Paraná (pop. 159,600), river port in northeastern Argentina, capital of Entre Ríos province, on the Paraná River. The city is primarily a shipping center for agricultural products, but also manufactures cement and glass. Founded in 1730, it was capital of Argentina, 1853–62.
