Omdurman



Omdurman (pop. 526,800), largest city in Sudan, on the White Nile, established in 1885 by Muhammad Ahmed, who is entombed here. It is a religious site for Sudan's Muslims and the region's commercial market. Many business people live here and work across the river in Khartoum, Sudan's capital.
