Octopus



Octopus, marine mollusk (genus Octopus) with 8 tentaclelike arms that surround the mouth; a cephalopod. Behind the beaked head is a saclike body containing the internal organs. Octopods can change color for camouflage and eject a black pigment which forms a smokescreen to foil predators.
