Nehemiah



Nehemiah (fl. 5th century B.C.), Jewish leader of the return from the Babylonian Captivity. In the Old Testament book of Nehemiah (written with the Book of Ezra by the author of Chronicles), he rebuilt Jerusalem's walls and enforced moral and religious reforms.
