National Primitive Baptist Convention in the U.S.A., rganization comprising more than 2,000 black Baptist churches. It was established in 1907 to join black Baptist congregations formed after the Civil War by former slaves. These Baptists follow 3 religious rites: baptism, Holy Communion, and feet-washing. The convention operates a publishing house, women's auxiliaries, training unions, and church schools.
