National Labor Relations Board



National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), independent U.S. government agency designed to prevent or correct unfair labor practices. Set up to administer the National Labor Relations Act of 1935 and protect fledgling unions from illegal interference, the board has since been granted power to police illegal union and management practices. Its actions are subject to approval by the federal courts.
