Mustard

Mustard, any of several herbs (genus Brassica) of the Cruciferae family. The Cruciferae include food plants (e.g., many cabbage varieties, watercress, turnip, radish, and horseradish) and such condiment plants as the white mustard (B. alba) and black mustard (B. nigra), native to the Mediterranean region. They are cultivated for their seeds, which are ground and used as a condiment, or used as medicine.
