Mullein

Mullein, large herbal plants (genus Verbascum) of the figwort family. Found in northern regions with mild climates, there are 300 species. The common mullein, which grows to a height of 2 to 7 ft (0.6 to 2 m), has a single stem with large, thick, velvety leaves on the bottom and yellow flowers that grow in clusters, in the form of a spike at the top of the plant. When touched, the mullein's leaves and stem inflame the skin. Its leaves were once used to create a medicinal tea.
