Asphodel



Asphodel, perennial herbaceous plant (genera Asphodelus and Asphodeline) of the lily family, with white or yellow flowers along the stalk. The yellow asphodel, or Jacob's rod, is often cultivated as an ornamental plant. Native to southern Europe and India, the asphodel was considered the flower of Hades by the ancient Greeks.
