Anne of Brittany



Anne of Brittany (1477–1514), duchess of Brittany and queen of France. Anne was married to King Charles VIII of France in 1491 and after his death became the wife of his successor, King Louis XII. Through the marriage of her daughter to the future King Francis I of France, the duchy of Brittany, the last of the great feudally held territories of France, was permanently united to the crown of France.
