Adirondack Mountains

Adirondack Mountains, forested range in northeast New York, source of the Hudson River, and southern extension of the Laurentian (Canadian) Shield. Mt. Marcy (5,344 ft/1,629 m), the highest peak, towers over scenic lakes and millions of acres of woodland, all contributing to make this an important resort region.
