Brooks Adams



Adams, Brooks (1848–1927), U.S. historian, son of U.S. diplomat Charles Francis Adams, grandson of President John Quincy Adams, and brother of historian Henry Adams. He saw history as a series of economic growth cycles, a theory developed in his chief work, The Law of Civilization and Decay (1895).
