Adam and Eve

Adam and Eve, first man and woman, according to the Bible (Genesis 2–3). They were created in God's image and placed in the Garden of Eden to care for the earth and its inhabitants. According to the story, Adam and Eve ate the fruit from the forbidden tree of knowledge of good and evil and were exiled from Eden by God to live a mortal life. Man was destined to a life of toil and woman to the pain of childbirth, and both were subject to death.
