Acupressure



Acupressure (Japanese shiatsu), treatment system comparable to acupuncture. Pressure is applied to specific points on the surface of the body to eliminate fatigue and to stimulate natural curative abilities. Seven interrelated effects may stimulate the body to operate normally and help maintain good health: (1) invigoration of the skin, (2) stimulation of the circulation of body fluids, (3) promotion of function of striated muscles, (4) correction of disorders of the skeletal system, (5) promotion of harmonious functioning of the nervous system, (6) regulation of the operation of endocrine glands, and (7) stimulation of the normal function of internal organs.
