Achilles

Achilles, legendary Greek hero of the Trojan War and central figure in the Iliad of Homer. Dipped in the River Styx by his mother, Thetis, he was made invulnerable except at the point on his heel where she had held him. Achilles killed the Trojan hero Hector in revenge for the death of Achilles' friend Patroclus. Achilles was killed when the god Apollo guided an arrow from the Trojan warrior Paris into his heel.
