Abydos



Abydos, Greek name for a religious center in Middle Egypt inhabited since the early dynastic period (3100–2686 B.C.) and connected with the god Osiris. It is noted for its tombs of early dynastic kings and its 19th-dynasty temple (c.3100 B.C.).
