Aberdeen (pop. 216,500), Scottish seaport and the most populous city of northern Scotland. Aberdeen is a shipbuilding and fishing center also known as the market center for the Aberdeen Angus cattle breed. In the 1970s it became the hub of the industries based on the exploitation of North Sea oil.
