A.B.C. Powers

A.B.C. Powers, loose entente between Argentina, Brazil, and Chile, initiated in 1906, taking its name from the countries' initials. The entente's mediation averted a U.S.-Mexican war in 1915. Its aims were cooperation and mutual nonaggression, but a treaty signed by the 3 countries in May 1915 had little real effect.
