Kinecta Credit Union (aka – Kinecta Federal Credit Union) is celebrating its 70th anniversary of service and commitment to its members. Founded in 1940 and named Hughes Aircraft Employee Federal Credit Union, the company was started because the employees at Hughes Aircraft didn’t like having to take their lunch breaks to do banking business. When Howard Hughes was approached with the idea, he thought it should be done but warned that he didn’t want any funny business. He wanted his name kept clean. And it has been. Renamed Kinecta Credit Union in July of 2001, the company has maintained its integrity and dedication to serving its customers.



Kinecta Credit Union offers a wide variety of services. Checking accounts, savings accounts, money market accounts, and IRAs are available for members as well as an overdraft line of credit, home loans, and automobile loans. For checking there are no monthly fees, no minimum balance, free online bill payment services, and free Kinecta ATM transactions. They offer a wide range of insurance products such as accidental death & dismemberment, life insurance, and long-term care. There are a host of investment opportunities: 401Ks, Pre and Post retirement planning, tax advantage investments, and estate planning.

Benefits for being a Kinecta Credit Union member are numerous. You will receive discounted tickets to Six Flags and Sea World; 10% off Sprint Services; Special discounted rates for Direct TV; and many other great value savings. Kinecta has two VIP Programs with outstanding perks, but the qualifications for the program are stiff. With a minimun of $150,000.00 in combined balances, you will receive a free safe deposit box, priority phone service, courtesy pay with no NSF charges, and no closing costs on home equity loans. These are just some of the many advantages VIP members have.

During this economic crisis Kinecta Credit Union has been true to its word in reference to commitment to its members. Kinecta believes in a partnership between its members and itself; therefore, when members need help, Kinecta is there. Because of the unemployment rate making it difficult for some to make their loan payments on time, Kinecta modified its loan program so that its members could keep their homes. Also, Kinecta made sure that its members had access to the most competitive mortgage rates in the country.

This company believes in community and doing their part for the betterment of others. Kinecta’s team members helped to raise $120,000.00 for non-profit organizations. In November, Kinecta team members delivered meals to feed 1,200 families for the holidays. They are dedicated to the environment and encourage the use of estatements. For every member that participates in the eStatement Program, Kinecta donates $1 toward planting trees in the Brazilian Rainforests. Their efforts have resulted in 4,147 new trees in the rainforests!
