Creationism

Creationism, also known as Creation Science, theory held by fundamentalist Christians that the Earth and living things were created as described in Genesis rather than through a process of evolution. Creationists have survived numerous setbacks, including the Scopes trial in 1925, the push in the 1960s to improve science education, and a 1980 Arkansas court decision declaring teaching of creationism to be unconstitutional because it is religious.
