Coyote

Coyote, or prairie wolf (Canis latrans), wild dog of North America. It is well known for its characteristic howl. Once confined to the plains of western North America, the coyote has spread to the Atlantic coast. It feeds mainly on rabbits and small rodents but has become more of a scavenger. Coyotes sometimes interbreed with dogs.
