Cosmos, genus of tropical fall-blooming flowers of the Compositae family. Cosmos, native to U.S. and Mexican tropics, are tall, brightly-colored annuals and may have either single-stemmed flowers or clustered blooms. Cosmos grow well in full sunlight and moderate soil.
