Corn earworm

Corn earworm, larval stage of moth (Heliothis zea) in the owlet moth family (Noctuidae). The corn earworm breeds on and attacks corn, tomatoes, alfalfa, and beans; it is called a bollworm when it attacks cotton. Insecticides such as carbaryl are used on some crops to protect them from the corn earworm.
