Charlotte Corday



Corday, Charlotte (1768–93), French assassin of the French revolutionary Jean Paul Marat. Objecting to Marat's persecution of the Girondins, she stabbed him to death in his bath on July 13, 1793. She was guillotined by order of the revolutionary tribunal.
